In Maria’s world, the bar for excellence doesn’t dip. The spectrum of her talents include design and staging to make a home unforgettable, and analyzing numbers to help her clients make strategic investment decisions. 

After completing a design and marketing program in Toronto, she returned home to Edmonton and entered the hospitality industry. (And, if you’re wondering, yes! it’s where Maria and Dave met, and have worked together ever since.) While in hospitality, she also pursued her BComm with an accounting major. Her fashion and design skills combined with her accounting and analyst training gives her an intuitive eye in real estate investment.

Anticipating what cannot be foreseen is part of the real estate world, and Maria navigates unexpected twists and turns in buying and selling homes with dexterity. As a marathon and ultra-runner, she knows about pushing across finish lines, and that focus and discipline gives her the stamina to go the distance so her clients have a stress-free experience.

She also leverages every available outlet and opportunity, including social media channels, professional photos, drone footage, and branding to garner visibility for a client’s home. Maria is a natural observer and knows what questions need asking. She especially enjoys her work with new home buyers and sellers, and putting people at ease when it comes to making real estate dreams a reality.

Maria honours honesty and vulnerability in others, and would describe herself as very approachable, with a bit of a contagious laugh. She is fascinated by people, their backgrounds, their lifestyles and goals, which makes her career not only rewarding, but really fun.

Spare time is hardly idle for Maria. When she is not working, exploring trails with her dogs, Benson and Chapo, she pushes herself to learn new things personally and professionally. She also likes to listen to some of her favourite titles, including Born to Run by Christopher McDougall and Exaclty What To Say: For Real Estate Agents by Phil Jones.

Inspiration behind animal rescue: Maria has always owned rescue dogs, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Animals don’t have a choice in their home, and helping them find their best lives, to recover from trauma, and see their personalities emerge when they know they are safe is what brings joy to Maria’s life every day.
