Happy Halloween YEG!

Over here at the Dave Sells Head Quarters, Benson and Chapo are getting ready for this Halloween season. Halloween can be fun for your whole family, including your furry friends! Here’s some tips and treats to make your Halloween safe and SPOOKTACULAR!

-Dressing up your pets is awesome! But don’t forget about their comfort. Make sure they are free to move, breath and bark/meow. We know that YEG’s Halloweens can look like a scene from Frozen, so make sure to dress the whole family appropriately. Keep those ears, paws and tails warm!

-If you are bringing your four-legged friend out trick or treating, be sure that they have light reflective/light up collars or clothing. With dimly lit areas and pets being close to the ground they are very hard to see. Many distractions from decorations and costumes can divert driver/people’s attention away from the road and they may not see your pets. Include proper tags on your pets just in case they get spooked and make a run for it. Be sure your up to date with your contact information!

-Know your pet’s temperament. If your pups are not keen on larger crowds or “scary” decorations, it might be better to keep them home for the night.  A pet carrier is a great way to keep them calm and collected.  You can also have fun with costume ideas. If you are planning on spending the night inside, keeping your pets away from the frequent opening/closing doors with unfamiliar faces can prevent unnecessary stress.

-Now for the treats! Since we all know Halloween candy is not for you pets, we thought we would include a little something special for them. These would be great to pass out to your other four legged friends in your neighborhood when they come trick or treating.
