Meet Chinook!

With winter finally making its cold appearance we at Dave Ozubko Real Estate thought there is no better time to feature an adoptable animal from our friends over at Zoe’s Animal Rescue. Adopting a rescue animal has many benefits that far out weighs just the monetary benefit, the love of an adopted animal is unlike any other.

Without further ado, Meet Mr. November! This is Chinook. He is a 2-5 year old Akita that was rescued from the dump, malnourished and frightened. Chinook is a fighter! He has been neutered; micro chipped and had all of his vaccines. When Chinook was rescued he did have a leg injury that required a splint, which has since been removed and is healing well. He is also blind in his left eye, likely caused by a deformity at birth. The right eye is also showing signs of having degenerative eye disease and there is a possibility that with age he may lose his eyesight. He is thriving in his foster home and loves people (even an 11 month old baby). His ideal forever home would be with someone who is always around or can take him to work.   He would be a great companion to another dog and also gets along with cats. Outdoors is his favorite place, especially with you! If you love going for walks and spending time outside Chinook would be the best adventure buddy you could ask for! Chinook is working hard on crate training and his separation anxiety. Chinook may need a little extra TLC but he makes up for it with his loyalty and unwavering love.

Don’t forget now that it is starting to get cold, Zoe’s Animal Rescue Society can use all of the donations it can get. If you or someone you know have any igloos that you can spare to shelter the animals taken in by foster families, it would be a tremendous help. Information on adoption through Zoe’s or helping as a foster family can be found on their website.
